Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
– Hebrews 2:11 NIV

Friends,

It was George MacDonald who wrote that the central misery of the masculine soul is the refusal and incapacity to look up to God as Father.

I want to suggest a parallel source of impoverishment and pain: our refusal to look up to Jesus as our Older Brother.

If it is true that the Son of God became human so that humans might in turn become sons of God, then we find ourselves enticed once more to go ever deeper into our masculine initiation.

Jesus became a brother to mankind, that we might more fully come home to the Family of God.

It could change…everything.

What if Jesus is our true Older Brother?

Let’s explore together. Join Cherie and me for Part 1 of this conversation.

For the Kingdom,
